Brian Simmons, Senior Principal at the MITRE Corporation, manages MITRE’s Connected Critical Functions department and co-leads of the Integrated Surface Transportation business unit.  Mr. Simmons’ 28-year career has focused on transportation system modernization, and transitioning disruptive technologies into safe and beneficial operation by state and federal agencies.  Mr. Simmons’ current focus is industry/government coordination towards safe and routine Autonomous Vehicle operations, nationwide V2X deployment, and AI-supported crisis management.  Mr. Simmons holds a Bachelors and Master’s Degrees in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.
