Doug Bermudez is a proud Miamian, half-marathoner, and seasoned public transit professional with over 20 years of experience in the transportation industry. As Chief of EASY Card Fare Payments and Customer Experience at Miami-Dade County's Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW), Doug leads efforts to modernize fare systems and enhance the rider experience across South Florida.Nationally recognized for his expertise, Doug serves as the 2nd Vice-Chair of APTA's Fare Collection Systems Committee and Chair of the Transportation Research Board's TCRP Project A-55 on fare-capping travel behavior and financial impacts.With a customer-first mindset and a passion for leveraging innovation, Doug is committed to using emerging technologies to elevate the transit experience for all riders, at home and across the country.He holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Florida International University and a Master's in Public Administration from St. Thomas University.
