Doug Bermudez serves as Chief of Fare Programs & Customer Experience at the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation & Public Works (DTPW), where he leads fare payment modernization and customer-facing transit programs. His work includes the transition to account-based ticketing and open payments, as well as initiatives involving digital mobility, artificial intelligence, data governance, and emerging transportation technologies.Doug serves as Co-Chair of IATR’s Technology & Innovation Committee, Second Vice-Chair of APTA’s Fare Collection Systems Committee, and Chair of the Transportation Research Board’s TCRP A-55 Panel on the Travel Behavior and Financial Impacts of Fare Capping, in addition to serving on other TRB research panels. He also serves as Miami-Dade County’s lead liaison for CoMotion Miami, helping connect the public and private sectors around mobility, technology, and innovation.
