Currently serving as the Assistant Director and Chief Financial Officer for Miami-Dade County's Department of Transportation and Public Works, he directs all strategic financial operations for a large, complex organization, managing a $2 billion annual budget and leading a team of over 100 financial professionals. Through his diverse financial management roles within Miami-Dade County, with a focus on auditing, financial reporting, and finance, Melvin has developed extensive expertise in governmental accounting, financial reporting, debt management, internal controls, and financial systems. A collaborative leader, he is dedicated to building high-performing teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
