Nathan Kogon serves as the Assistant Director for the Public Housing and Community Development Department, focusing on the planning and development of existing public housing sites and other county-owned properties. With Approximately six months in this role, Nathan brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his position.

Before assuming his current role, Nathan held the position of Zoning Director for the County since 2014.  In this capacity, he oversaw all aspects of zoning administration, subdivision control, and policy formulation. Nathan managed zoning hearings and the administrative review process while implementing development and expansion of the County’s Urban Center Districts and Rapid Transit Zones.

Prior to joining the County, Nathan spent a decade as the inaugural Planning and Zoning Director for the City of Doral. There, he established and led the Planning and Zoning Department, playing a pivotal role in the development and implementation of the city’s first Comprehensive Development Master Plan and Zoning Code.

Nathan earned his B.A.A. degree from Toronto Metropolitan University in Toronto, Canada, and holds certification as an AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners) certified Planner. With his extensive background in planning and zoning, Nathan is dedicated to advancing community development and housing initiatives, making significant contributions to the betterment of our County.
