Olga Y. Garcia currently serves as the City Engineer for Hoboken, New Jersey, where she plays a vital role in the planning, design, and implementation of the city’s infrastructure projects. With over two decades of experience in civil engineering, Olga brings deep technical expertise and a strong commitment to public service, particularly in areas such as flood mitigation, transportation planning, and sustainable urban development.Olga earned her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in January 2004, followed by a Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 2005, also from NJIT. Her academic background laid a strong foundation for her career in municipal engineering and public infrastructure, where she has built a reputation for excellence, collaboration, and innovation.As Hoboken’s City Engineer, Olga leads critical infrastructure initiatives that improve quality of life for residents, enhance public safety, and support the city's long-term resiliency goals in the face of climate change. She works closely with city officials, planners, contractors, and community members to ensure that engineering solutions are both technically sound and responsive to the needs of the community. Ms. Garcia currently serves as the past President of the New Jersey Society of Municipal Engineers as well as a board member of the New Jersey Institute of Technology Hispanic and Latinx Leadership Council.
