
Prodyut Dutt
Dr. Prodyut Dutt has over 40 years’ experience in the transport sector both in Malaysia and overseas. He started in 1983 as Assistant Director, Highway Planning Unit in Ministry of Works, Malaysia then as Principal Assistant Secretary, Land Transport Division and Maritime Transport Division in the Ministry of Transport, Malaysia and finally as Deputy Under-Secretary, Economics Division in the Ministry of Finance, Malaysia. He then worked 12 years in the Asian Development Bank (ADB) where his final position was as Head Infrastructure Group in ADB’s India office responsible for all of ADB’s transport and energy sector projects in India. On his return to Malaysia in 2012 he joined Land Public Transport Commission initially as Head of the Planning, Policy and Research Division and from 2015-2018 as the Chief Development Officer of the Commission. From 2021 until now, he is working as Group Chief Operating Officer (Strategy and Development) Prasarana Malaysia Berhad a company owned by the Malaysian Federal Government which operates urban rail and bus services in Kuala Lumpur and Penang in Malaysia. He has a B. Eng. (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Malaya in Malaysia, a postgraduate Diploma in Public Management degree from the National Institute of Public Administration , Malaysia, an M.Sc. (Distinction) degree in Transport from Imperial College London, United Kingdom and a Ph.D. in Transportation degree from MIT in Cambridge, USA.
