
Raymond Martinez
Raymond A. Martinez is currently the Chief Operating Officer of the World Cup Miami Host Committee. Ray began his law enforcement in 1979 with the Miami Police Department and served at all levels from police officer to the Assistant Chief of Police. After over 22 years of service, Ray retired from MPD and accepted a position with the Miami Beach Police Department as Assistant Chief in 2001. In 2012, Ray became the Chief of Police at the Miami Beach Police Department. Ray's 35 years of prominent law enforcement experience in both the City of Miami and Miami Beach includes a background in uniform patrol, SWAT operator, robbery detective, training officer, motorcycle enforcement supervisor, general investigations commander, police administration, budget and labor relations. During his time as a law enforcement officer, he was awarded Unit Citation, the Gold Medal of Heroism, and the Purple Heart for being shot twice in the line of duty. Prior to his many positions of law enforcement, Raymond served in the United States Marine Corps. Since his retirement as Chief of Police of Miami Beach in 2014, Ray has held the position of Chief of Security for ULTRA Music Festival. Ray also serves as a senior consultant at V2 Global specializing in public policy. Ray served the roles of Vice President and then the President and Executive Director of the 2020 Miami Super Bowl Host Committee.Ray received his Master of Public Administration at Florida International University, and a Bachelor of Liberal Studies at Barry University.
