
Sarah Abroff
Sarah Abroff is a dedicated researcher, planner, and community-driven innovator with nearly two decades of experience. She serves as the Local Policy Lead at the City of San José Department of Transportation, where she manages the SMART Curb Management pilot, urban freight and goods movement initiatives, and local transportation policy development and implementation.With a background spanning urban planning, design, and social science research, Sarah has successfully managed projects across diverse sectors. Her approach is shaped by her experience with design-thinking firms, where she refined her skills in prototyping, testing, and iterating to develop responsive solutions to real-world challenges.Sarah holds dual master’s degrees in City Planning and Landscape Architecture from UC Berkeley, an MA in Quantitative Methods in Social Sciences from Columbia University, and a BS in Biopsychology from the University of Michigan. A mother of young children, she is passionate about leveraging technology to build a sustainable future for generations to come.
