
Vik Bhide
Vik has over 20 years of research, consulting, and local government experience in urban mobility and resilience.As Director of the Mobility Department, his duties include oversight of the City's transportation, parking, and stormwater portfolios. Vik leads the City's Intersection of Innovation program which assists local startups in doing business with City government. He also serves as a Board member for ITS Florida and the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI).Vik worked on behalf of the City of Tampa to partner with FDOT and the University of South Florida to form the Tampa Bay Smart Cities Alliance, a public-private-academic alliance to pilot and grow transportation technology initiatives. With a goal of developing transit and housing concurrently, Mayor Castor has tasked Vik with coordinating the City-initiated Regional Infrastructure Accelerator (RIA) with local, state, private and federal partners including local governments, the Tampa Bay Partnership, USDOT’s Build America Bureau, FDOT, and regional planning organizations.
