
Alan Ohnsman
Alan is an award-winning journalist based in Los Angeles who tracks technology-driven changes in transportation and sustainability. He's reported for Forbes since 2016, after previously spending 15 years with Bloomberg News in Tokyo and Los Angeles. His fascination with cutting-edge transportation arose from many years in Japan, where he was also a BusinessWeek correspondent and staff writer for the Asahi Evening News and Tokyo Journal. In between journalism jobs, he worked in equity research departments for Lehman Brothers and Salomon Brothers in Tokyo and served as chief communications officer for TrueCar, an online auto retail service.
Alan lives in Glendale, California, with his wife, son and two cats. A lifelong musician, he also plays drums and sings for indie rock group Combo Villains.
