Lynn Peterson
Lynn Peterson is serving her second term as President of Metro, the nation’s only elected regional government. Metro's jurisdiction includes three counties, 24 cities and 1.7 million residents across the greater Portland area. A transportation engineer and urban planner, President Peterson began her career in her native Wisconsin, before joining Metro as a travel forecaster. She served as the Strategic Planning Manager at TriMet, the first elected chair of Clackamas County, transportation advisor to Gov. John Kitzhaber, and as Washington State's Secretary of Transportation under Gov. Jay Inslee. In her time at Metro, President Peterson has continued to be a staunch advocate for transportation and parks investments, along with championing Metro's efforts in affordable housing and economic development.
