Martin Duerr is Managing Director/CTO of Dromos.

Dromos is a public transit system that provides high-capacity as LRT/Metro, but uses small autonomous vehicles to transport up to 4 passengers (or freight) at a time, reducing empty trips and optimizing energy efficiency. Dromos provides individualized origin-to-destination service, runs on dedicated lanes, and is controlled by proprietary software for safe maneuvering and congestion-free traffic flow, providing “The quality of a taxi ride for the price of a bus ticket”. Dromos operates on-demand 24/7 and offer fully equitable rides. The ecological footprint is unrivaled: CO2-neutral, silent, emission- and free of non-degradable micro particles.

Dromos offers significant advantages over conventional rail-based systems, such as significantly reduced construction costs and operating expenses, as well as increased service levels and demand flexibility. Dromos provides means to offer public transport services without the need for public subsidies – opening up opportunities for involving private finance. A real game-changer for the industry and a silver bullet to solve the classical dilemma of scarce financial resources vs. the need to improve customer service. First installations in Europe are underway.

Martin is responsible for all technology features in vehicles, infrastructure and central control. He has several years of experience in mobility – covering various stages of the value chain, application areas, and many regions of the world.
