
Scott Johnson
Scott Johnson is the director of communications for Metrolink, Southern California’s regional passenger rail provider. After serving four years as the public information officer for the Moreno Valley Unified School District, Scott began at Metrolink in May 2012 as the agency’s public affairs/media relations officer before becoming the director of communications in 2022.
After earning a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University, Scott worked in athletic media relations at the University of Texas at Arlington, the University of Minnesota and Loyola Marymount University before becoming a communications/publications representative for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in 2003.
Scott also served 14 years in the California Army National Guard, first as a public affairs specialist before becoming a human resources officer. Scott served during multiple state activations and also served as a part of Operation Freedom's Sentinel as a member to the 40th Infantry Division in Kandahar, Afghanistan between 2017 and 2018.
He is a former member of the High Desert Partnership in Academic Excellence Foundation Board of Directors, Habitat for Humanity, San Bernardino Area, Inc., Board of Directors, and was the Norton Space and Aeronautics Academy Board of Education president.
Scott earned a Master of Public Administration from California State University, San Bernardino in 2010 and completed the U.S. Defense Information School Basic Public Affairs Specialist Course in 2011. He is a married father of two children and lives in San Bernardino. Both of their children are currently attending the University of California, Berkeley.
