
Vasileios Papapostolou
Dr. Vasileios Papapostolou is the Technology Demonstration Manager at the South Coast Air Quality Management District. His unit is responsible for providing co-funding and administering research and development, demonstration and early deployment pre-commercial on-/off-road mobile/stationary technologies and equipment including battery/hydrogen fuel cell electric medium-/heavy-duty vehicles and supporting charging/fueling infrastructure; clean fuels and emissions characterization studies; clean energy storage and charging micro-grids applications; zero-/near zero-emission locomotives, ocean-going vessels, port and construction equipment.
Dr. Papapostolou holds a Doctor of Science degree in Environmental Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and has over 15 years of experience in scientific research, air pollution measurements, technology and methods development and environmental justice. Prior to joining South Coast AQMD, he was a post-doctoral research fellow at Harvard where he investigated environmental and health impacts of vehicular exhaust from alternative fuels.
